If you are interested in creating more products without intense research and writing, you might think of creating a regular podcast. A podcast is an audio version of a blog; much like a radio broadcast. The point of conducting a podcast, is to communicate useful information or entertainment to your audience. You can interview experts in your niche and promote your interview as a webinar or tele-seminar.
One way to create a product is to use the power of audio. One way to do that is with the interview style of product. Busy people have more time to listen than to read these days. They can take an mp3 file anywhere. Here are a few tips to get your interview product launched.
Imagine having your own talk show in which you interview celebrities who promote their books and products. The fantasy is quite easy to realize. The first step is to create a podcast and syndicate it. Promote your “show” on blogs and online communities. Podcasts allow you to be the star of your own radio or Television show for practically no money. You’ll need a microphone for your computer and some audio software as well. Here is how to get it done.
Create a plan for your podcast. Get out paper and pen or computer and lay out a plan with a schedule. Get a plan together to create and promote your podcast. Lay out your schedule and contact your “celebrities” for interviews. The people you are looking for are those in your target market and moving up the ladder of credibility. The experts in your market who can solve the problems of your prospects are the first ones to contact. Google them or go to Amazon to research your market niche. Check online to see if you can find them at their websites or on community sites.
Prime the podcast pump. If you are new to podcasting, get your podcast up and running. Get your first six podcasts uploaded by using a commentary format or a question and answer format. Send your current subscribers a questionnaire and get their feed back on issues important to them. Use the results to create a series of podcasts in which you address the problems proffered by the folks in your list.
Begin to promote your podcast. Use the power of your list to promote your podcasts. There should be a launch promotion for your podcast to get the buzz going. You should be making promotional contacts and make connections to schedule interviews in your market. Promote the launch as if you were promoting a product. Contact other list owners to let them run an ad swap with you to promote your new podcast.
Construct your script for your interviews. Create a standard script that you can use to set up your interviews. You can send the script to your potential interviewees ahead of time and allow them to craft their responses. This will also allow those who aren’t used to being interviewed to get a sense of what’s coming.
Install the right programs for podcasting and recording. Use a program that allows you to make the call from your phone or web-phone and record clearly the conversation on both ends. There are many audio programs out there for the PC as well as the Mac systems.
Conduct the interviews in a comfortable style. Practice a few times before you get going on your first real interview. Have a few dry runs with friends and get used to the sound of your voice. You will be hearing it a lot as you do this. After you record the material, you’ll be editing it. Use one of the editing programs such as the free program Audacity to remove gaps, dead air and any other awkward silences.
Promote the interviews. The main goal is to promote the interviews to your and get your interviewee to promote the interview to their list as well. When you’re done, give your interviewee a link to the finished episode.
