Should I order my new bass online or get it at the local store?
Local Music Store (Guitar Center) has the Electric Bass I want to buy. (Ernie Ball Musicman Sterling Ray 34) for the same price as an online store (Musicians Friend).
The difference is, shipping is free on the online store, and no tax to be paid. The difference is $50 there. So I’m leaning towards the online store, just worried about the UPS shipping and how many drops and bangs the instrument will encounter on the way to my house….
Any suggestions? Or personal experiences?
always, ALWAYS buy instruments at the store! they may look the same, and be the same model TECHNICALLY, but all guitars are different! when buying a new guitar, i always suggest people pick it up, play it, feel it and see if its the one they want. you can’t do that from an online store. plus, the online store could be cheating you… from experience, i’ve learned that most online stores and even some dealers, handle ‘factory seconds’ which are models that have one or more things wrong with them from the factory. they’re screw ups, basically. sometimes the screw up isn’t that bad and can be fixed, but other times its VERY bad. in the store, you can check the instrument for flaws.
hope i helped!
