Right.. My Gibson hummingbird has a chip out of the front of it… it’s about 2mm/4mm deep, its not huge but it’s going to knock the price down :/, As well as this, its right in between the burst of colour :/ red to yellow. Does anyone have any suggestions? I hope i look forward to hearing from you

Make sure the area is clean and try coloured nail varnish. Different shades can be mixed. You’ll never get an invisible repair but you should be able to improve matters greatly and end up with something that isn’t really noticeable. Build the chip up with lots of thinnish coats until it’s slightly proud of the surrounding surface. Let it harden and then rub lightly with some very fine wet and dry paper used wet and lubricated with washing up liquid. This is to make the repair flush with the rest of the top. This should be quick and easy as the nail varnish will be softer than the surrounding finish. Then polish the area with something like T-Cut (a car-care product). I think I would then clean it again and put a few layers of clear lacquer over the repair (again available from car care shops. I would spray some into a container and put it on with a small brush. Again, let it really harden (about a week), rub down lightly with wet and dry and then polish with T-Cut. It might be worth lightly polishing the whole of the top with T-Cut at this stage as the repair should blend in better. Good luck.
