Body Alder is the type of wood for the main body
Bridge/Tremolo is the system where the strings are attrached or passed through to be attached at the tuning keys. The tremolo is what changes the pitch of the string by moving it up and down
Frets are the metal narrow bars implaneted on the finderboard where you put your findgers
Hardware chrome is the knobs and the tuning keys themselves
Neck material maple is the kind of wood called maple and this is where the frets are inserted to.

Upon first picking up this guitar, the first thing that you might notice about Larrivee Guitars D-05 dreadnought model is that, similar to the appearance of other Larrivee mahogany guitars, it is much lighter in appearance than many other builders’ mahogany guitars are. This light appearance is highlighted by the Canadian maple binding, and since the D-05 does not have electronics, is quite noticeable on the bottom because there is no strap button. This lack of a strap button is clearly something to consider if you plan to play while standing up – you may want to opt for Larrivee’s D-05E dreadnought model instead, which has electronics and an output jack contained within the strap button.
The Larrivee D-05 dreadnought has the bright, singing, and whiny highs that you would expect from a sitka spruce and mahogany wood combination. It also delivers clear mids and a deep, yet not overpowering bass. I used fingerpicking and was pleased with the balance. I dug in with a flatpick and, as would be expected from a dreadnought, the D-05 responded well to flatpicking, both alternate and crosspicking. I also used a slide in both standard tuning and open G tuning and the Larrivee D-05 produced the whiny, resonant notes you would expect from a mahogany guitar.
