Vehicles have always been a fascinating subject for artists, especially for children oriented artwork. These vehicles, especially Trucks, may look convoluted enough for a drawing. They are however, simple to manage when broken into basic parts. You can easily draw a Truck with fundamental Geometrical figures such as, Lines, Squares, Rectangles, and Circles. In this piece, we are analyzing the basics of drawing a Truck. This article focuses on drawing a truck from the front and the side view.

Drawing a Truck – The Side View.

Â• The Skeleton. Draw a Horizontal Line. Divide this line into two parts, with the left side of the partition being smaller than the right side of it.

Â• The Body. The larger part of the line forms the Base for the Body of the Truck. A Rectangle put on the top of this base, will form the Body of the Truck.

Â• Cabin. On the small part of the line, make two Vertical Lines. The line away from the Rectangle should be half the size of the other line. Add three more tangential small lines, joining the two Vertical Lines in steps like fashion. This is the Cabin of the Truck.

Â• Wheel Arches. Draw a long and thin Rectangle at the bottom of the Truck with three Semi-Circles cut out of it, two of them under the Body and one under the Cabin. These are the Wheel Arches.

Â• Wheels. Draw a Circle under each of the Wheel Arches to make the Wheels.

Â• Hubcaps. Draw one small Concentric Circle inside each of the three big Circles, now Wheels of the Truck, to make the Hubcaps.

Â• Miscellaneous. The Window and the Door of the Trucks can be marked with the help of a Square and a Vertical Rectangle, respectively. Place a tiny Horizontal Rectangle at the middle of the Door for the Handle. At the base of the Door, draw a Horizontal Rectangle as the Foothold of the Truck.

Drawing a Truck – The Front View.

Â• Front View Skeleton. Draw a Hexagon with all the six sides of the same length.

Â• Bumper. Draw a Rectangle with curved corners below the Hexagon. This would make the Bumper of the Truck.

Â• Bonnet. Draw a curved shape around the Hexagon. The whole structure should resemble an Arm Chair in looks. This is the Bonnet of the Truck.

Â• Wheels. Mark two small brick shapes under the Bumper for Wheels.

Â• Windscreen and Wipers. On the top of the Bonnet, draw a kind of flat-topped hill. Pencil in, a small flat-topped hill inside the big one. This is the Windscreen. Two slant lines on this Windscreen will form the Wipers.

Â• Headlights. Two small circles on the Bonnet of the Truck will mark the Headlights.

Â• Engine Grill. Make a small Hexagon inside the big one. Fill it up with fine Horizontal Lines to make an Engine Grill.

Â• Miscellaneous. Draw 5 small Horizontal Rectangles, two each for Wing Mirrors & Head Beams, and one Rectangle for the License Plate.
